well i honestly think you learn better by yourself... it worked for me... i just started with some resource number over at iPW's wiki... ohh and we're not saying making a section for tutorial (which is what u are asking for) is a bad idea... well at least i am saying there is already one... why do u guys ask for it?

i think a mix of learning from others and discovering yourself would be good. like a lot of the basic stuff that you guys discovered by yourself we dont know and i dont see why we have to try and figure it out when the answer is there-its just not accesable.

you guys keep saying theres lots of info everywhere but theres a lot thats not there.

Everything on Driven's site or the iPod Hacking Bible is literally all there is to hacking iPods. There's nothing special about setting up a mini np or adding an image to a menu. If you understand the information available, then setting up something like that is really no trouble at all.
If you don't understand the info, then just pick a resource (like the main menu (24430) and play around with the values. Look at what happens when you set the z4 to 4 or the left value to 10. I guarantee you will figure it out in no time.

Throwing this out there for those still arguing on whether there should be a IPH training forum or not.

IMO there are quite a few things that are better/easier to learn if you do it yourself. Heres an example I know out of experience, in certain subjects like mathematics if you find patterns/tricks in it before someone 'teaches' you the trick, then it tends to stay in your head a lot better, and it also ends up being easier to apply in problems. When theres something that you really want to know in mathematics, and you can't figure it out yourself, then you can easily look it up or ask certain professors/teachers about it. The same applies to ipod hacking for the most part, the stuff you find on your own would most likely be easier to understand and/or remember, and if theres something you really need to know and you can't seem find it on your own, then I'm sure a Dev wouldn't mind answering the question.

what we're trying to say is that we want to be pushed in the right direction. In Algebra II/ Trig., you have to cover a new subject everyday, and there's no time to really learn it, so your teacher sets the basework for it and sends you home to learn the rest on your own.

that's exactly how we are doing things. we give the noobs the wiki and basic tutorials, and then they can figure everything else out. of course, most noobs barely know how to use itunes these days...

but there is a difference between throwing a trig book at us and turning on the overhead and saying copy this, you'll need it for your homework tonight (not that I would ever do my homework, but whatever.)

so even if it's just a seperate chatbox, that would be pretty bangin, too.

but Driven and others have been posting tutorials straight out of the dev section into the Tutorials section, I've found them very helpful.
