I had watched a quick video and paused the ipod about 20 mins later I plugged the ipod into the computer at which time my hard drive on the ipod went NUTZ! Since then it will NOT let me into the hard drive windows DEMANDS to format the ipod and when I try it gives and error saying "Windows cannot format the Disk" I never had the chance to get the data off of my hard drive. ![]() (why format? well the reason for that is if you do a quick format (has to be quick NOT FULL) then you can run recovery programs likes gary undelete or whatever you use and recover about 90-95% of your data sometimes 100%) Quick formmatting only fixes the file system and does not touch the data. BUT you can only format the harddisk in the original file system or recovery software will be mislead and not recover the files properly or may not even find them.
