I had one for my old 5G that broke...too bad the same cable doesn't work anymore for the Classics. I think that Apple is making people buy their own, or at least until other companies make their own. (Cables, i'm talking about the cables).

Exclamation Uh new video out system stops 3rd party because:

There not compatable.

Older Ipods use yellow coaxle technology.
The new classics and "above" use the DVD type technology (three cables instead of a yellow coaxle : BLUE GREEN and RED)
SO:
you would need a converter that converts the three cable system into the one cable system (they exist)
BUT:
first you would need to find out what "wire" or "leads" the three cable system runs on and then splice them into a hand made cable that would run into the converter box

OR: IF you have a dvd player or TV that supporst the three cable system the you would be ABLE to just connect it directly into the dvd player or TV but you would still have to splice the cable.

Jeeze PEOPLE LISTEN!

The video out was always supported. You just had to have the proper cable to connect it or the ipod wouldnt let you turn on video out function.

(((Mods delete here:

BUT IDIOT'S like you! went crying with out knowing what they were talking about crying that they couldnt turn on the video out function (because they didnt have the right cable but duh. (its just like burning on a CD BURNER is disabled put a DVD-R in it which is EXACTLY stupid if you put a co-axle cable system into a COMPONENT cable system.

Mods end delete here)))

So here is the deal:
Classic: 3 video component cable system and 2 sound cables`
3 video out colors are GREEN BLUE AND RED
Plus One RED and WHITE for sound

Anything BEFORE classic: 1 video co-axle cable system and 2 sound cables
The ONLY video out is YELLOW
with one RED and WHITE for sound.

Please sticky SOMEONE!
And edit to take out my B****ing.
