reflashing Nano 1st GEN to other version ?

how do we change the version from Euro version (mine) to US version ? my nano are the 1st GEN...:confused:

no...no...there's a different between em both...mine, euro version, the soundsig are rubbish...:o and the nano of my pal, the US version, have SQ/soundsig much more hi-end than mine...i can feel the staging ARE exist there, mid & bass detail have more impact, so agressive...more brighter than mine, almost had the same sig as ipod video...my nano are too 2D, bass rolloff, hi & mid detail are meh...the whole soundsig are warm, different from the US version...

that's why i need to know HOW to change the version, please...

Well just download the UBH fw. It a canada (i think) FW which is just as good

anyway what should i know about upgrading the firmware ? all i know only the tools are ipodwizard, any tutorial/step by step guide to do it right ? dont wanna mess my nano even it was a "meh" to me... :eek:

how about using the latest fw from Announcement (iPod_17.1.3.1) ? how it compare to UBH fw ? :confused:

Yeah try using that firmware and the Ultimate Background Hack firmware. There both US firmwares so I'm guessing it should work.

For a video tutorial, look here.

All you really need to do is load the firmware with iPW and write it to your iPod. It will work for any firmware version you use, even if you iPod nano doesn't have that firmware version.

thx for sharing me how to do it, Matthew98...one more thing, mine are Mac fomatted ipod...should i back up, format it so the nano change to windows format & restore it first before i upgrade the firmware ? :confused:

You can't use iPod Wizard on Mac OSX so you'll have to write it to your iPod using CMD, and iPod Patcher, look up a guide on this site for more infomation.
