Background problem

ok so im new to hacking my ipod (5g video) and i have encountered a problem when i try to put a theme on it using ipod wizard but when i load all the pictures from a theme it will only change everything besides the background.... also when i try loading new firmware i go to my edit drop down box, select the load firmware and it loads but when i write to my ipod it always brings up an error code

are u sure u have a 5 Gen? if it has search its a 5.5
