Exclamation iPod Bricked? T_T

Hi, okay so i've been loading themes and firmware and stuff like that for my ipod and my friends' ipods for a long time and there hasnt been any problems that i cant fix by rebooting or putting it into disk mode but this takes the cake. Okay so i was writing a modded hybrid 3.5 firmware onto my friends' ipod 5.5g (yes it was the right firmware), but as i was writing it ipodwizard crashed halfway, i thought no problem should be easily fixable. i was wrong, when it reboots, and goes to the apple logo it stays there, it doesnt loop, doesn't light up or anything. i can't put it into disk mode at all and the only times there are changes are when it runs out of battery and turns off and i plug it in and it says "Very Low Battery, Please Wait" and after it has charged enough to reboot it reboots and stays stuck at the non-lit up apple logo. What im thinking is it didnt write all of the firmware before ipodwizard crashed. i've tried plugging it into the computer to load a fresh firmware, but no luck its not even recognized. so is the ipod bricked? or is there some fix?

any help would be appreciated!

EDIT!!: just a few moments ago i held menu+centre to try and reboot and the apple logo faded away and almsot rebooted but got stuck again at the un-lit apple logo again

your battery could be completely dead and may need to be replaced
maybe??
if you are comfortable enough, take the ipod apart and remove the battery and then replace the battery with one from a website
or just plug the same batty back in and try to reboot it again.

did you unplug the ipod when it was writing firmware?
if so your ipod is shot

i cant really think of any other fixes since diskmode wont work

It's nothing to do with the battery, i read in your signature that you where dual booting rockbox. In recent rockbox builds the bootloader had serious problems and nearly bricked my ipod twice. My solution to this was to keep trying to put it in disk mode every 2 hours then it worked and i removed rockbox. If u still want rockbox use loader 2 instead

Im lost buddy, i did notice that whenever i take out my hard drive from my iPod, it automatically asks (after i re-assemble it) to plug into iTunes and restore. try that.
