iPod Won't Mount?

Help, my iPod won't mount! It's not being detected by the computer. How do I fix it, and what is wrong with it?

Try to force it in to disk mode, by rebooting with Menu + Center. Then once the Apple Logo comes up push Play/Pause button and the center button and it should go in disk mode?
