Itunes is annoying

okay, this is the first notice i get everytime i open itunes with my ipod plugged in at all. So even if i open itunes before i plug it in, this notice pops up.

Then shortly after, this happens.


iTunes actually runs fine without the ipod. It plays my music, it works perfectly. I've reset my ipod, formatted it, restored my ipod many times.

In fact, the only way iTunes recognized my ipod at first was because it was in recovery mode. It said it was corrupted, then I clicked "restore" in the ipod section and it restored itself. when the original fw and everything is set back to normal on the ipod, its supposed to be recognized by itunes right? WRONG. It still freezes up after it's been restored.

iPodWizard still works on it surprisingly. So I can change the fw. That's odd, right?

So before all this happened, I modified a string in the classic hack, I changed "DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME" to DST and wrote it to my ipod, ejected it. Then, the iPod screen switches to this white screen, "connect your iPod to itunes, you need to restore it..." i think that's what it said and it's said in like three different languages down the screen. But anyway, I'm pretty sure you've all seen it before, at least once.

Okay, so I restored it. everything got set back to normal. And before I reset the iPod's name, to "Kris's iPod" or write any songs to it, the first thing I do is write the classic firmware to it. After making some mods to it, I finally decide that I want to put my songs back on it so I open up itunes, and it freezes over. I'm like, WTF?

So I restart my comp, then when that didn't work, I ended the iTunes Helper process, then that sucked, so I tried to look at the iPod Service service and I restarted that, and it still didn't work. Believe me, I also tried to restart and refresh the Apple Mobile Device service. None of that worked.



I finally gave up and went to add/remove programs and repaired the program. opened it, plugged ipod in, still freezes! Uninstall and reinstall, that didn't work.

System restore, to the previous day, because it was prolly itunes.
Didn't work.

I think it's my ipod that wrong, but i mean, running it even in disk mode and plugging it into my comp and opening itunes still doesn't work.

I'm fed up and I need help.

Go somewhere else and restore your iPod, after try again... If it doesn't work, Uninstall iTunes and download an older version, like 7.6, it's nearly the same

this is so weird but before itunes 7.6 even opens, it already gives me "Itunes has stopped working"

It's so odd, my ipod suddenly just gets recognized by itunes. It is so strange, but ya, thanks for all your help.

everytime i get that "you need to restore your ipod" i just reBOOT it, and plug it back in and everythings fine. anyway have you tried killing ituneshelper? ctrl+alt+delete, go to procceses, find itunes helper, kill it.
