Simple Question: 6G firmware on a 5.5G.

No, I'm not talking about a homebrew theme or makeshift Classic. I'm talking about the real thing.

I'm using a Mac and alterPod, and it (unlike iPodEditor) will let me use a 6G firmware that I downloaded, and if it works, would restore my iPod using it.

But before I do this: a) will this brick my iPod FOR SURE? b) has anyone done this before? I presume someone has; however I have been unable to locate a thread or post regarding this.

I don't care if it'll be über slow and all that jazz. I just want to test it but I still would like to revert back to iPod 1.3 or whatever.

its not possible because the 6g and the 5g's dont have the same insides so they have a different os. its like trying to run windows vista on your cell phone

it would be possible all except for the problem that the 5g ipod will probably crash if it tries to run coverflow, cause it does not have anough processing power to have moving pictures or whatever

but i can try it if someone helps cause i have an ipod that doesnt work that im sneding in so it doesnt matter if i brick it
