I wanna put classic perfected v2, but i upgraded to 1.3. so can i just load FW and write or do i need to write an old FW, write then put the perfected classic on? I need an order of operations. BTW that was a super n00b question.

I was unaware that 1.3 restricted firmware writings...

No... just write the firmware to the iPod and it'll work you don't need to downgrade first

But if your music doesn't show up, then click on a song in itunes, and drag it to the ipod icon and it brings it back.

that is all true, but syncing works just as well for restoring songs. it will not re-write all of them, just allow them to appear on your ipod

Mine did that, but thats what I mean. If you just click and drag a song on the ipod name thing, the songs show up again.
