Exclamation Help With iPodEditor

Hi

I have been trying to find any way to edit my iPod's firmware but nothing seems to work for me. I have tried every firmware editor there is for the Mac. Out of them, iPodEditor seems to be the best.

However, when I try to extract the resources from my iPod's firmware, it loads halfway, and then stops, but appears to be still loading.

I have even tried loading fresh firmware from this page http://gecko.programmerslife.co.cc/i...tor/firmwares/
that you provided.

It does the same thing.

I have also tried to upload the fresh firmware and fresh resources separately, editing the resource, and then writing the resource to the firmware, and then writing to my iPod.

I have seriously tried everything.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you in advance

you cant extract recourses from a hack with a background on iPodeditor. so what ya gotta do is download X11 and WINE and run iPW through that, its what i do. the only problem is it doesnt find your ipod, which means you gotta save the firmware, then open it in iPod Editor and just write it.

Sorry I haven't seen this but are you using 10.4? because 10.4 does that do to problems out of my control. (still that doesn't mean that I wouldn't still try and fix it)
they way around it is to go to http://mrgeckosmedia.com/iPodEditor/firmwares/ download the pre extracted resource for your iPod. and if you wanted a cracked firmware for games download the one with a c at the end.

Note: ImageMagick won't download anymore because they stopped supporting 10.4 so I am working on an update with bug fixes hopefully more support for 10.4.

Hope this helps,
Mr. Gecko

Default Difference Between 5G and 5GC

At the site (http://ipodeditor.110mb.com/firmwares/), what is the difference between the 5G and 5GC firmwares? Thanks!

Also, is there a way to make my edited resource/firmware available for other users to install onto their iPods? (example: iPW users can just download and install themes that have been compiled and put into one file) Thanks again!

5GC is cracked for iPod Games and 5G is normal.

Yes you can make themes with iPodEditor, if you are using a background firmware you would have to use iPodWizard to put it together and than you just change the extension to .ipfw and make a firmware theme.

My theme only has changed resource images, but I was wondering: can the file type of the theme made by iPod Editor be opened by my friend who uses iPod Wizard?

Or can my friend (with iPod Wizard) use the firmwares and/or resources used exported/created by iPod Editor? Thanks.
