How to Install Simpsons Doom to Ipod 5.5g

I have the 80 gig Ipod Video and i was wondering how i can put the simpsons doom in my ipod

First you need to either install iPod Linux or Rockbox. If you are willing to do so. Post here so I'm not wasting my time.

iPod Linux
1.) Install iPod Linux by doing this [5G,5.5G] How to install iPod Linux on an iPod Video

Getting iPod Linux
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.)First download this

2.) Install it and then unzip it using Winrar and then double click on the .bat program. This installs iPod Linux and the loader and some modules.

3.) Now that linux is installed you can edit your loader. Open up notepad and copy and past this into there then save it to your iPod root and name it loader.cfg
Here is a default loader

Apple OS @ ramimg
iPodLinux @ (hd0,1)/linux.bin
Sleep @ Standby
Disk Mode @ diskmode

4.)I made a installer for this since people were having trouble. Just run the installer and your done. Heres the link http://www.mediafire.com/?40nxu9xhzcc. Then to get igpSP working you have to google for gba_bios.bin and for iBoy,iDarcnes,ScummVm,iMame,iDoom( for iDoom you have to search for a wad on ipodlinux.org/forums) and for those others you need to search google for roms. PM me if you can't find roms or need additional help. Everything you need to install this is on that page

5.)Then add this to your loader

iLaunch @ (hd0,1)/linux.bin  /mnt/iLaunch/iLaunch

6.)Now boot into iPod Linux by holding

Menu+Center

Then your loader will come up and select iLaunch. Now you've can launch everything from there such as iGameGear,igpSP and everything you've installed on your iPod Video.

Switching Loaders and Podzillae

1.)Download this http://winxblog.com/iPodApplicationManager.zip

2.)Unzip it with Winrar and make sure your iPod is connected and select the .bat file

3.)To get a different loader either get one from the wiki and the forums.

4.)Everything is pretty much self explanatory.

Multiple Firmwares From the Loader
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.)Using iPod Wizard goto updater tab and click extract firmware binarie and save it to some where on your Computer.

2.)At the top left under edit mode click load firmware file and load it. Edit as much as you want and click write not write to ipod.

3.) Next add the fimrware to your root it should be in a .bin file

4.)Add this to your loader

Apple Firmware @ (hd0,1)/apple.bin

MPD Installer for 5g only not for 5.5g

Now You've Successfully Installed iPod Linux On Your iPod

2.) Next after you have installed iLaunch, go to your root through my computer click on your iPod's drive then go to the folder called iDoom. Make a copy of the folder Doom and rename it to Simpsons Doom. Next go to the simpons doom file that you have downloaded then go to the folder you just made and replace the wads from the download to the new folder. Your done, boot up Linux and start iLaunch then start DOOM!

Rockbox

1.) First install Rockbox by following this [5g/5.5g] Installing Rockbox without iPod Linux

What you will need
iPod 30gb ------>Download this http://build.rockbox.org/dist/build-...eo/rockbox.zip
iPod 60gb/80gb ------>Download this http://build.rockbox.org/dist/build-...mb/rockbox.zip
Install Rockbox's Boot Loader ------>Download This http://download.rockbox.org/bootload...podpatcher.exe

Instructions
1.)Download your iPod module from above.
2.)Then extract it to your iPod's Root
3.)Open up your root and open the .rockbox folder and take out the rockbox.ipod and put it in your root.
4.)Download the Rockbox's boot loader from above and run it.
5.)Click Y to install it.
6.)After it's done disconnect it from the computer and hold in

Menu+Center

Until it reboots and goes into Rockbox.

You've Just Installed Rockbox Without having iPodLinux

Install rockdoom.wad
Create a directory called /.rockbox/doom/ on your player (i.e. F.rockbox\doom\ for Windows users - where F: is the drive letter for your DAP) and save the following file in that directory:


rockdoom.wad(http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/pub/Mai...rockdoom.wad): rockdoom.wad.

Then just add the wads in the folder^^^

The link does not work...and do i delete the .rockbox after i drag out the rockbox.ipod.

A small word of advice. Dont install the Rockbox loader. Instead go for the ipl loader. In case you ever want multiple themes.
