Default Bootloader's Mysterious Disappearance

I installed Rockbox and its [boot]loader so that iPod booted into Rockbox by default. Then I changed the firmware for Apple OS using iPodWizard, which somehow caused the bootloader to stop working, and my iPod only boots into Apple OS now, not Rockbox.

Is this normal? Can I boot into Rockbox somehow? Must I reinstall the bootloader?

Thank you.

The Ipod patcher attaches the bootloader to the apple os firmware.
So if you want to keep your bootloader you will have to run the ipodpatcher again.
But you don't need to reinstall Ipl or rockbox.
This happened to me too.

If you installed any hacks (like the touch hack)
It might get rid of your loader, if you used a FW.

Well, as a simple explination, the bootloader is just an estension that you add to a theme. like changing the color of the status bar. so when you change a theme, like all other edits to the firmware, it disapears.

Solution?
Re run Bootloader.

good?

The reason why this happened (No one said; they jost told you how to fix it!) is because, the boot loader is found in the firmware of the iPod. So it's installed on the firmware. That's why when you apply a new firmware the boot loader is gone? Understand? The boot loader stays there if it was extracted/installed from an iPod with a boot loader currently on it.

^ I said it first, but just editing a theme will not make you lose your boot loader. I said it but i guess no one understood. The only way to lose your bootloader is to re-write the FW, cuase the Bootloader is part of your FW. ONLY ONE PART! so my editing the fw you will not lose your bootloader. Only by writing another fw can you delet your bootloader. (Brandon, Xiaden I kno you knew this but we all fail at explaing it I hope i got it this time.)

I got it, thanks people. I was just confused when all I did was apply a new hack and the iPod refused to boot back into Rockbox. How annoying.
