[1.1] Time to Begin: Downgrading
If you have firmware 1.1.1 on your IpoT you can skip this step
For others that have firmware 1.1.2 you need to downgrade 1.1.1
To do this you need to go to iTunes and press Shift + Click on "Check For Updates"
Once you press check for updates you will be prompted to to find the file you wish to update [assuming you downloaded the attached file(s)] with the the 1.1.1 update file ("iPod1,1_1.1.1_3A110a_Restore"), browse to the approriate directry (where you downloaded your file), click it and wait for the update/ downgrade to be complete.
[1.2] Installing Jailbreak (1.1.1):
After downgrading to 1.1.1 you can now jailbreak... Tap Safari and in the URL/ Address bar type "www.jailbreakme.com". Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will notice in says "Install AppSnapp", tap it. You will notice that Safari has crashed and it has begun to install the Jailbreaking software and fixing the TIFF expliot (making your ipod even more secure than it was without jailbreak )
Once the installation is complete, you will notice an extra icon on the screen of you IpoT; "Installer", this means you have successfully jailbreaked your IpoT, you might wonder why update after this... well it's simple you will have to do it inevitably so why not now? Plus some applications availible in 1.1.2 are are not availible in firmware 1.1.1
[1.3] Preperations for Jailbreak 1.1.2:
Now that you have the installer on your IpoT it's time to use it to your advantage to be able to upgrade to 1.1.2
[Need WiFi connection]
Tap the installer and you will notice it will check for sources as well as refresh the sources... just wait until the process is complete once it is complete, tap "Install" which is on the bottom bar; second from the right. It will take you to a list of folders
Scroll down the list until you see "Tweaks (1.1.1)"; tap it. This will take you inside the folder; scroll down until you see a file called "OktoPrep"; tap it and press install (at the top right).
Once OktoPrep is installed press the home button and you should be taken back to your main IpoT screen.
Your preparations are complete it's time to upgrade to 1.1.2 once more
[1.4] Updating IpoT to firmware 1.1.2:
It involves the same steps as downgrading to 1.1.1 (section [1.1]) but, instead you are clicking "iPod1,1_1.1.2_3B48b_Restore" as your update file.
OR
Instead of using the attached update file you can upgrade to 1.1.2 using iTunes (by pressing update and it will prompt you if you would like to install version 1.1.2 firmware just say OK)
After successfully updating to 1.1.2 it time to now jailbreak once more with your new firmware :p
