Unlocking/Jailbreak iPhone

I had a few questions about Unlocking/Jailbreaking an iPhone.

I do own one and had it unlocked by a wireless company which I had to pay a hefty fee. The reason I did this was because I needed a new phone and I couldn't risk bricking my expensive investment.

I read all these articles and it seems that Jailbreaking an iTouch is the same as an iPhone? And the software included on the Installer can unlock the phone?

When the Jailbreak/Unlock software comes out for the 1.1.3 I want to be able to do myself instead of paying for another unlocking fee.

If any of you have a good guide for the most recent unlocks/updates please help me out. Thank you!
