Default Favorite Linux Distro?

Well, I've been looking more and more into running Linux on at least one of my boxes here at home, and the only distro I've ever tried is Ubuntu. Gutsy is pretty amazing so far, but to all you Linux gurus out there: Is there anything better yet?

My favorite distro is probably Mepis. I like fedora core too, but it seems kind of buggy sometimes.

Ubuntu doesn't need an installation, either.
It can be run live off of the cd.

Not even close.

You have your BSD systems which are Unix, you have Debian based ones like Debian and Ubuntu, then you have the RHEL and it's derivatives such as Fedora, and then you have no package based ones like Arch.

In regard to desktops, I use www.linuxmint.com on my desktop.
