Default Ubuntu - Basic discussion
So, are there any Ubuntu users here?
I am. I use it mainly when I need to boot up fast and need my computer for browsing, music and IMing. I really like the appearance. I'm also using Compiz Fusion which is really great with all the effects and shiny glittering stuff(I like eyecandy, (; ). Screenshots coming later.

I use ubuntu mainly for browsing... it's quite pointless...

I use it when I'm bored of Windows.
Also when I need to download something very big as I get a slight boost of download speed on it :O
I haven't got Compiz to work for some reason, haven't really tried much yet though.

I used Ubuntu, but I wasn't very familiar with Linux and how to install stuff,etc...
Beryl/Compiz Fusion are f*cking great if you are able to make them work

in my opinion, every os sucks except for media center xp (2005) and os x loepard.

well i can agree with u on the xp part. but i never tried leopard. i tried installing it on my pc but it didn't work. never tried ubunto or any linux. i'm not really interested in linux

How's that? It's actually easier to install...

Use your Add/Remove Program on Ubuntu and you can select packages you want to install and uninstall. I find it much simpler than Windows.

That's because you don't know shit about computers. Leopard was fucking built on Unix witch is almost the same as Linux.

Beryl merged with Compiz... so now it's just Compiz Fusion.
