After just one day of instituting a One iPhone per person per household policy they reversed it. Apparently, they found out some iPhones hidden in the closet.

They declined to give statements on both, their current inventory of iPhones and iPhone shortages on the US and UK. This leads to the belief that they are making space for new iPhone to be unveiled at the WWDC.
