by the time i get a mac for college im sure it will be like 10.7 or something, or maybe in OS 11?
kinda excited to see what's in store tho... im sure there will be some cool new stuff, even if it isnt another huge jump like tiger to leopard was.

They said they're going to focus on speed and stability, that means the OS will be pretty similar to Leopard. Why should they come up with a brand new name?

... if you look at apple's OS release dates they release one major every 4 years and 2 years in between a minor... guess this minor one (Tiger was major) was not satisfying enough and to boost sales they are adding to the OS... question is what happens to all of us current leopard users... will it be an online update or will they force us to do like with the iPod touch pay $10 to upgrade... or do we have to buy the whole os again...only time will tell what Steve Jobs is planing, and whether he respects consumers who just bought his OS 8 months ago...

Mac OS X "Lynx" is what they are calling the highly prototypical "Mobile" version of Leopard.
