Default Question regarding old imacs and Tiger OS X

Okay, so the other day i made the find of my life and found a mac. i turned it on, and put mac OS X jaguar on it, but i would much rather have tiger on it. so basically my question is, how would i get tiger on it? and would it be fast enough? its something like a 600mhz powerpc (apparently its a G3, but from my small research they weren't 600mhz) and has 256mb ram which i could upgrade if necessary (only the ram) and if its possible, anyone want to point me in the direction of a guide?

thanks in advance,
allex

well from this page it looks like that it would be able to handle it, you have the minimum specs. I dont think you can upgrade RAM on a mac though. To install it either get a installation CD (buy it or get it from a friend) or download it and then burn it to CD or DVD im not sure which, and then follow the instructions on the CD or downloaded file

You can upgrade the ram, its still a computer. Its not hard wired in to the motherboard.

yeah but its not as easy to open up the case, and i think it voids your warranty (which may or may not apply)

You can add a DVD drive as well, should be plug and play.

Edit: Or get an external...

yeah get a USB drive, or torrents. How big is the file on the DVD? they might not make a CD version, try loading the DVD to a flash drive and then running it off of that

A dvd is usually bigger than 4 gigs, which is the only reasonably priced flash drive...
