Install .kext files

This tutorial will show you how to install .kext files.

Step 1: Download the .kext file.

You can probably find the .kext file, here.

Step 2: Move the .kext file to System/Library/Extensions

You must click on authenticate and type in your password when asked to.

Step 3: Open terminal and type in the following

Type "sumo -s" and then type in your password. Next, type in the following:

chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/<Type in file name here>.kext
chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/<Type in file name here>.kext

Make sure to replace the <Type in file name here> by the right name of your .kext file.

It's a kernel extension, and it's usually a driver.
