Default Tiger 10.4.6: Sound Issue

just installed 10.4.6 tiger onto my dell dimension 8200- piece of crap- but its working fast as hell.
only one problem- no sound.
and the problem is that i cant find what type of audio it is, so i dunno what to do about drivers, i could probably find out if i could get back into windows on the other partition, but i dunno how to do that, cuz i set this partition as active and i dont really have a bootloader- er it doesnt work if it is there.
im fine without accessing windows, but id really like the sound to be working.

any help?

I can't really help much until you figure out what kind of sound card that you have.
To boot up windows, just before OS X starts, hit F8, and highlight your windows partition to boot. Then find out what kind of sound card that you have.

alright, ill have to try tomorrow cuz i gotta sleep,
but after looking at other documentation in think it is a built in soundblaster something.... not much help, but i get a popup at startup that says something about the appleAC97.kext cant be started, and thats audio. so i think that may be it, and after reading about my desktop i did see that other ones of the same build had ac97.
ill check tomorrow.
thanks tho.

okay i got the sound working by installing the appleac97.kext from the osx86 project wiki page, but now i have one problem. the sound is faster than how it should be.
jlike if u used a sound recorder and hit speed up... the voices are distorted and such.
any help?
