cuteftp pro/winscp problems

Hello, I have 2 programs I have installed for my ipod touch on my computer: winscp and cuteftp pro. Whenever I try to login to cuteftp pro I get SFTP21 error= #4. If I try to login to winscp it won't let me. How do I fix this? I need these programs to get themes and roms on my ipod.

Make sure you're using the SSH protocol, and not just an FTP connection.
