Exclamation Mac OS X - Sync cracked AND purchased games

First things first, sorry if this has already been posted, I did a search and found nothing, so yeah. Anyways, this is for all of you that have OS X and, well, an iPod. A zebra would be a nice addition as well, but that's another story.

So you've got yourself some cracked games (Zuma, Vortex, etc.), and some new purchased games (Phase, Sonic, etc.). Unfortunately, you can't have both on at the same time and sync them without either copying and pasting the cracked games and going through a whole complicated procedure and when you buy a new game, you've got to do that all over again.

Luckily for you, you've got OS X (Tiger/Leopard for sure, don't know about earlier). All you have to do to get both cracked and purchased games working in perfect harmony (while still being able to sync games through iTunes) is go into the Games_RO, Games_RW and whatever the other one is and copy and paste your game into the appropriate folder. But before re-syncing your iPod, right click or (Ctrl + click) the folder of your cracked game and click "Get Info" and check the "Locked" box and voilla, that game isn't going anywhere, so it won't be deleted by iTunes.

You're going to want to lock each folder for the game. The one in games_RO, Games_RW and once again, whatever the other one is, can't never remember that one and too lazy to look. After you've done that, you can sync your iPod and sync new games to it and still enjoy your cracked games.

I've only encountered one problem with this method and it seems that "Lost" "Texas Hold 'Em" and "Cubis 2" have some kind of problem with their folders being locked and will either crash your iPod on launch of the game (Texas Hold 'Em), crash during a level in the game (Lost) or just never finish filling the loading bar (Cubis 2). Other than that, bulletproof way to keep your cracked games.

^Those three games do that on my PC, too. Well, at least LOST does.

But great hack mate!

Adding to Rep.

Did Lost crash for you at like, Chapter 3 or something? Right after you blow up a bunch of dynamite boxes inside the ship?

Something like that. It just flashes white and reboots my iPod.

Yep, same thing for me. Texas Hold 'Em seemed to work for a bit, and then all of a sudden it decided to stop working and crash my iPod. Can't figure out why.

PC users could try right clicking their cracked games folders and then going to Properties and checking the "Read only" check box. If that doesn't work, you could try clicking the "Advance..." button and checking the "Encrypt" button. As I don't have a PC iPod to try this on, somebody will have to try it out for me and tell me if it works. I would suggest doing both. Making them Read only AND encrypting them.

No idea if it'll work, but it's worth a shot.
