Vista SP1 help needed urgently!

Hey, Im doing this off my computer but it's my dads computer that has the problem! he just went onto windows update and downloaded vista SP1 from them and it all started installing etc after downloading, but now its up to part 3 of 3 installing and has been stuck at 0% for just over an hour now and im starting to worry a little bit. underneath that it says in big letters DO NOT TURN OFF COMPUTER so im thinking a restart isnt going too help at all. the computer has loads of crucial data to his business and if it stops or breaks then im kind of screwed! please help me! please!!

i'd say wait a little longer, then pull the plug. do you know if the stuff's backed up? if it's important to business it really should be backed up.

should i just leave it over night? and no, sadly its not backed up

i was in he process of making it auto back up

Leave it on overnight and if it's still there in morning, pull the plug out.

Worst case, if Windows Vista doesn't work well anymore, do a repair install. All your files will still be there and Vista will work again.

Wow 4 week bump. I think it either worked or he turned it off?
