Default Help! CD/DVD drive not being recognised!

okay, so ive had my computer for like 2 years now and the otherday the cd/dvd drive decided to not work, full stop. as in the thing isnt recognized by the BIOS its not recognized by windows and worst of all, not by itunes so i cant burn cds so im asking does anyone know how i can fix this?

disconnect it, try a different cd/dvd drive, see if that works, if it doesn't it's a problem with the mother board or the connecting cable.

Look in the Device Manager and see if it has a yellow exclamation point by it's name, or is it not showing up at all?

Open your computer and check if everything looks okay and connected I did that for my USB ports, they were disconnected one time.

this happened to me once
i was going to restore my pc
then decided to do this )reinstall the drivers)
and it fixed everything

Weird. Open up your computer and make sure all the cables are in right. You can also try resetting your BIOS settings and upgrading it.

okay, thanks heaps i opened it up, reset my BIOS, plugged in all the cables and installed the drivers again! and now, all is well with the world. thanks!
