BestBuy costs too much...

Let me see here, I think for that laptop, that price is a couple hundred dollars over what it should be.

try to get one with a intel c2d they're much better than the amd cpus (right now), 2gig ram, and something like gf 8400 or better, i only know german prices but a lap with these specs costs ~900€

as rotateh said, you definately have to go for a Core 2, and also a way better graphic card, I'm gonna buy a new Laptop soon, has 4 GB RAM, C2D 2,2, geforce 8600 gt, ...

costs ~1250 euro = 1300 - 1400 $

I was just making a suggestion drum.... But if you really want high performance get and acer, best quality for your buck and most of their laptops make the highest performance tests. But if i were you and looking for real performance id wait for phenron (or something like that my spelling sux) Its intels new processor and it will destroy pretty much anything else

I got a similar laptop from BestBuy. Pretty cheap (200 dollars cheaper the normal price) and great performance. The HP dv series are pretty nice. The Special Edition laptops aren't too special, just run a bit faster, which is always nice. It's a good choice, but I think you could something like that for a lil cheap if you look.
